SHADOW OF THE SUN

WEEK 6 PROMPT:  "JOURNEY TO THE WEST"

FOCUS:  An aesthetically & thematically strong action game

Shadow of the Sun takes one snippet of the legendary pilgrimage described in Journey to the West and attempts to expand upon it. The character of Sun Wukong was particularly interesting for me (also because I'm an avid League player), so I wanted to place him and his magical staff in the spotlight. I also went down a little rabbit hole of Chinese folklore and became enthralled with shadow puppetry - a popular form of oral tradition - which became the central theme of the game. I think this prototype, on the surface, is pretty straightforward, although I was able to experiment a lot behind the scenes within the code. These experiments resulted in a couple bugs you might notice while playing, but otherwise please enjoy!
